What do I need to provide to start a closure?

First, your payroll provider will need to verify your eligibility to begin the STR Closure process and send you an invitation to close your state tax accounts. In most cases, we will need just the basic information: an effective or final payroll date, contact information and the reason for the closure (merger, acquisition and business dissolution are not currently supported). Some states may ask for additional details, and if so, we'll let you know exactly what's needed once your request is in.
