It is past the estimated turnaround time and my registration is still processing. What can I do next?
If it is past the estimated turnaround time for your registration, Middesk is likely still waiting on mail from the state in which you are registering to confirm your account information, or your registration is still in review.
While Middesk provides state by state estimates on registration processing times, these figures can vary. Some states are more consistent than others, but there are a variety of factors that can affect your “turnaround time”. For example, around the end of a fiscal quarter, and near payroll dates, processing times may slow down due to higher registration volume.
You may be able to obtain your state account details earlier by logging into the state agency's online portal using the credentials saved in your Middesk account. However, please keep in mind that this will not always be the case, especially in certain states that Middesk does not create an agency log-in for, or states that only provide tax account information via physical mail.
If your registration has been stuck in processing for longer than expected, our support team will follow up with state agencies where possible, and often are able to resolve issues via email or online methods. Sometimes, a call to the tax agency in question will be required, and in many cases these agencies will not speak to third parties such as Middesk.
