Turnaround Time

  • Middesk: Takes 1-2 days to submit your application/registration for state agency approval given that all the information required is provided on the Middesk registration form. 

  • The Department of Treasury: Takes between 14-40 days to process, approve and return the account details to Middesk.

Registration Requirement

The Department of Treasury (Agency) does not allow for withholding registrations to be submitted until the date that the employer pays $1000 in wages in Michigan is reached.

  • The Unemployment Insurance Agency: This registration is processed and completed within the hour, and certain cases may require additional review.

Registration Requirement

The Unemployment Insurance Agency does not allow for withholding registrations to be submitted until the date that the employer pays $1000 in wages in Michigan is reached.

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency updated their online portal on 02/20/2026, any registrations requested after this date were submitted via the new portal, MiUI and Middesk does create a permanent online portal account for this agency.

If you requested your Middesk registration before 02/20/2026, our team submitted your registration via the old portal. To activate your online portal account for the new portal, MiUI, you will need to request an authorization code via MiWAM (the old portal).

You will need to open the MiWAM portal and enter your login details in the bottom left hand corner. Once you enter the username and password (which are found in your Middesk dashboard), a Lost/Never Received Authorization Code link will appear. You will need to select this and enter in the Middesk email address used in your registration and your account number. This triggers the agency to issue the authorization code via physical mail.
