Why is my transfer still processing?

We are unable to confirm that a transfer has been completed by the state agency until they have mailed a physical piece of mail to our mailing address.

A transfer that is in the “Government processing” status is waiting for the state agency to confirm that it has processed the transfer on their end. Once a piece of mail has been successfully received from all agencies in that state, the transfer’s status will be updated to Active. Due to this required confirmation step, a transfer will typically be processing for much longer than a new registration.
