A “wet signature” or physical signature must look like an authentic depiction of the officer’s signature. Sometimes the state can turn away the signature if they have reason to believe it's not a physical signature.
Common reasons for a rejected signature include:
- The signature was created using a computer font rather than an authentic signature.
- The signature image contains lines or boxes around the signature.
- Other visual interference occurred in the scan or photo-taking process.
